Textbook Questions
Note: All textbooks in your room should be assigned to students. Any extra textbooks remain in the media center. NO UNASSIGNED BOOKS CAN REMAIN IN YOUR CLASSROOM.
I just got a new student. How do I get textbooks and workbooks? One of my students is withdrawing. What do I need to do with the books? How do I assign textbooks in Destiny? Directions for checking textbooks out to teachers from students |
Please send Mrs. Booth the New Student From notifying that you have a new student. If you also need worksbooks for the new student, include that on the form. We will get those books to you as soon as possible. As soon as you find out your students is withdrawing, please send Mrs. Booth the Withdrawing Form and the student's textbooks and library books to the library. You may keep the workbooks in your room in case you get a new students in the future. 1. Log in to Destiny. 2. On the pull down menu at the top of the page, change to "Textbook View" 3. Click on the "Circulation Tab" 4. On the far right, Click on the "To Teacher" tab. 5. Type teacher's last name. 6. Click on "Find Teacher" to the right 7. Click on teacher's name 8. Click on "Reassign" 9. Type student's last name 10. Click on "Find Patron" 11. Click on student's name 12. Look at the last 5 or 6 digits on the barcode label on the back of the book. 13. Find the barcode from the list on the computer screen under "To be assigned" 14. Click on "Assign" on the far right side next to the correct barcode number. 15. Repeat steps 9-13 for all students. PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION TO "CLICK ON THE STUDENT'S NAME" IN STEP 10. (If not, you will check out two textbooks to the same student.) 1. Log in to Destiny using your username and password 2. In the very top middle of the screen, click on the drop down box and make sure it is on "View All." 3. Click on the "Circulation" tab at the top of the screen. 4. Click on the "Check Out Text" tab on the left of the screen. 5. Click on the "To Teacher" tab on the right of the screen. 6. Type your name in the box next to "Find" 7. Click on "Go." 8. Click on your name in blue. 9. Change the drop down box from "Undefined" to "99 (M-F) 1st Grade (Due: 5/13/2011)." 10. Scan or key in the barcodes for the books you would like to check out to yourself. 11. You will get the following error for all books that are checked out to students. Transaction blocked: * Teachers' Name (Barcode: P Teacher's number) * This copy is currently checked out to Student's Name(Barcode: S Student's number) * Do you want to complete this transaction? * Click on "Yes." |

My printer is printing "gobbbledygook". What do I do?

Shut down the computer and unplug printer cables. Wait a minute or two, then reconnect the printer cords and turn the computer back on.

From the desktop of the computer that is physically connected to the printer, right click on My Computer. 2. Choose Properties from the pop-up menu. 3. Click the Computer Name Tab. 4. Make a note of the computer name. (Note: The comptuer name is everything listed before .esc.schboard.net.) 5. From the desktop of the computer you wish to network to the printer, click Start---Run. 6. In the box next to the word Open, type \\ followed by your computer name. 7. Right-click on the desired pritner and select Connect. |
Keyboard and Mouse Questions
The computer doesn't recognize the mouse and/or the keyboard. What's wrong?

Sometimes, the computer loses its connection to the mosue or keyboard for no apparent reason. First, try disconnecting and reconnecting the problem device. If this doesn't solve your problems, shut down the computer. Wait a minute or two, then restart.

Yes. We have 3 Sony Sybershot DSC-H5, 1 Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W650 and 2 Kodak Zi6 Pocket Video Cameras.
Kodak pocket video cameras will record still images as well as video. Use this camera for non-print quality pictures and content to be placed on the internet. The Sony Cybershot cameras saves videos and and 8 megapixel pictures to an SD card that stays in the camera. Use this camera for print-quality pictures and for videos that can be used in large group presentations. Kodak pocket video Cameras - Connect to the USB connection to the USB port on your coputer. Note: You must first download the ArcSoft MediaImpression software to work with the Kodak images. Sony Cybershot - Use the Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard. |
